Article 1. Introduction

As a modern law firm specializing in employment law, we value technological advancements, provided they are in line with our core values: independence, partiality, expertise, integrity, and confidentiality. This AI policy provides insight into how we at Adnani & Van den Eeckhout Advocaten B.V. deal with the use of artificial intelligence (AI) within our services.

Specifically, this AI Policy relates to:

This policy describes the principles and safeguards surrounding the use of AI applications within our firm, with due observance of the applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Code of Conduct for lawyers, and (future) European regulations such as the AI Regulation.

Article 3. Use of AI in practice

AI is used within our firm as a supporting tool for legal analyses, text formatting, internal process optimization and risk assessments. AI never replaces a lawyer's legal judgment. Every outcome regarding the legal services that is created with the help of AI is assessed by a competent lawyer for accuracy, relevance and applicability.

Article 4. Responsibility and supervision

The use of AI takes place under the strict supervision of our lawyers. The ultimate responsibility for the content, quality and legal correctness of all advice, procedural documents and documents provided by us remains with our lawyers at all times.

Article 5. Confidentiality and data protection

We do not process personal data or confidential information of clients in open, publicly accessible AI systems. If AI systems are used, this is only done within secure environments that meet the highest standards in the field of information security.

Client data is only used in AI systems if:

  • the processing takes place within a closed and controlled system, the quality and guarantees of which are known; or
  • the data has been processed pseudonymously or anonymously.

Article 6. Quality assurance and continuous evaluation

We follow the technological and legal developments surrounding AI and train our employees. In addition, we periodically evaluate the use of AI within our firm and adjust this policy if the legislation, the state of the art or our professional rules give cause to do so.
